Richland Mall Revamp!

Richland Mall Revamp!

Hooray, Columbia locals! The Richland Mall, located on Forest Drive, has officially been sold. Southeastern Development purchased the property and is the new management. They have a current expense budget of at least $100 million over the next ten years. Their plans include apartments, a grocery store, a brewery, and other boutique businesses. Southeastern Development has had a few mall redevelopment projects lately. These include the Aiken Mall, Shelter Cove Town Center in Hilton Head, and now the Richland Mall. The Richland Mall sits on 32 acres and is a great investment for a developer. After numerous plans trying to take off in the past several years, locals are excited for a plan to stick. This will be the largest investment for the City of Forest Acres in 35+ years. The City of Forest Acres is also funding a 6-acre park behind the mall. Locals have been wanting a new shopping space and entertainment location for years- this is it! For those Barnes and Noble lovers, not to worry. The developer will find a place for it and Belk in the new plans.
