Heathwood

The beautiful, traditional Heathwood neighborhood in central Columbia is located near downtown, Five Points, Fort Jackson, and USC. With tall pines and ancient oaks, it was named after cotton broker Moses Chapelle Heath, who purchased 130 acres in 1914 from Ursuline Academy, a women’s finishing school. Heathwood was annexed into the city in 1925 with some homes listed on the Register of Historic Places. Heathwood features a variety of home styles and sizes ranging from small condos around $100,000 to million dollar mansions. Bounded by Trenholm Road, Beltline Boulevard, and Devine Street, Heathwood features spacious homes often situated on large lots.
